Hi All: I explored a bit more the concept of a garage/showroom track, as I accidentally discovered that you can put objects over the track, using an object map and a displaced object: http://www.ignorancia.org/uploads/torcs/cars/previews/preview-garage_obj-test-1.jpg http://www.ignorancia.org/uploads/torcs/cars/previews/preview-garage_obj-test-2.jpg I created a quick garage scene, making the room as wide as the track, then displacing it on the X axis so that the right border falls just at the origin. Then I used an object map to place it just to the right of the track, next to where the car is placed by default. This way, when you enter to practice on this track, you get automatically placed at the center of the room. For the moment it's just an empty room to test the concept, but I plan to create something better if I can find the time and some inspiration... any comments/sugestions/ideas are welcome, as usual. Regards, P.S.: The room was created with Wings3D and the textures baked with POV-Ray, then converted to AC3D format with Blender. -- Jaime Vives Piqueres La Persistencia de la Ignorancia http://www.ignorancia.org |
