Command-line tool to delete merged Git branches
A convenient command-line tool helping you keep repositories clean. Supports deletion of both local and remote branches. Detects multiple forms of de-facto merges (rebase merges, squash merges (needs --effort=3), single or range cherry-picks… leveraging git cherry). Supports workflows with multiple release branches, e.g. only delete branches that have been merged to all of master, dev and staging. Quick interactive configuration. Provider agnostic: Works with GitHub, GitLab, Gitea and any other Git hosting. Takes safety seriously. Deletion is a sharp knife that requires care. While git reflog would have your back in most cases, git-delete-merged-branches takes safety seriously. git push is used with --force-with-lease so if the server and you have a different understanding of that branch, it is not deleted. There is no use of os.system or shell code to go wrong. -

git-open
Type `git open` to open the GitHub page or website for a repository
Type git open to open the repo website (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) in your browser. git open works with these hosted repo providers, git open --issue currently only works with GitHub, Visual Studio Team Services and Team Foundation Server. The preferred way of installation is to simply add the git-open script somewhere into your path (e.g. add the directory to your PATH environment or copy git-open into an existing included path like /usr/local/bin). Antigen will handle cloning the plugin for you automatically the next time you start zsh, and periodically checking for updates to the git repository. You can also add the plugin to a running zsh with antigen bundle paulirish/git-open for testing before adding it to your .zshrc. Add zgen load paulirish/git-open to your .zshrc file in the same function you're doing your other zgen load calls in. ZGen will take care of cloning the repository the next time you run zgen save, and will also periodically check for updates to the git repository. -

Work normally on your design. Save the file. Commit the changes with a meaningful message describing them. The plugin will extract the artboards in your file in order to show the differences easily. Push your changes to the remote. Create a pull request from your branch to the master branch. Voila. Your co-workers can review the changes, comment on them and approve them. Once approved, merge the pull request. -

gitbase
SQL interface to git repositories, written in Go.
gitbase, is a SQL database interface to Git repositories. This project is now part of source{d} Community Edition, which provides the simplest way to get started with a single command. It can be used to perform SQL queries about the Git history and about the Universal AST of the code itself. gitbase is being built to work on top of any number of git repositories. gitbase implements the MySQL wire protocol, it can be accessed using any MySQL client or library from any language. The project is currently in alpha stage, meaning it's still lacking performance in a number of cases but we are working hard on getting a performant system able to process thousands of repositories in a single node. Stay tuned! gitbase was born to ease the analysis of git repositories and their source code. Also, making it MySQL compatible, we provide the maximum compatibility between languages and existing tools. -

Watch a file or folder and automatically commit changes to a git repo
A bash script to watch a file or folder and commit changes to a git repo. Some programs auto-write their config files, without waiting for you to click an 'Apply' button; or even if there is such a button, most programs offer you no way of going back to an earlier version of your settings. If you commit your config file(s) to a git repo, you can track changes and go back to older versions. This script makes it convenient, to have all changes recorded automatically. If you use an editor that does not have built-in git support (or maybe if you don't like the git support it has), you can use gitwatch to automatically commit your files when you save them, or combine it with the editor's auto-save feature to fully automatically and regularly track your changes. If you have any other uses, or can think of ones, please let us know, and we can add them to this list! gitwatch can be installed from source by simply cloning the repository and putting the shell script into your $PATH. -

A Git extension for JupyterLab
A JupyterLab extension for version control using Git. To see the extension in action, open the example notebook included in the Binder demo. Open the Git extension from the Git tab on the left panel. This extension tries to handle credentials for HTTP(S) connections (if you don't have set up a credential manager). But not for other SSH connections. The extension can cache temporarily (by default for an hour) credentials. To use the caching, you will need to check the option Save my login temporarily in the dialog asking your credentials. Once installed, extension behavior can be modified via the following settings which can be set in JupyterLab's advanced settings editor. Set post git init actions. It is possible to provide a list of commands to be executed in a folder after it is initialized as Git repository. Set path patterns to exclude from this extension. You can use wildcard and interrogation mark for respectively everything or any single character in the pattern. -

A cross-platform, portable, linkable Git implementation library
libgit2 is a portable, pure C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a re-entrant linkable library with a solid API, allowing you to write native speed custom Git applications in any language which supports C bindings. Libgit2 is developed with CMake, and this is be the easiest way to build a binary from the source. The CMake build system provides lots of options to configure the libgit2 build for your particular needs. It’s highly recommended that you build libgit2 as a static library for Xcode projects to simplify distribution significantly. libgit2 is used for powering Git GUI clients, such as gmaster and GitKraken and on Git hosting providers such as GitLab, Azure, GitHub, DevOps, among others. Node version management
Node.js version management: no subshells, no profile setup, no convoluted API, just simple. n is not supported natively on Windows. There are a variety of ways of specifying the target Node.js version for n commands. Most commands use the latest matching version, and n ls-remote lists multiple matching versions. n downloads a prebuilt Node.js package and installs to a single prefix (e.g. /usr/local). This overwrites the previous version. The bin folder in this location should be in your PATH (e.g. /usr/local/bin). The downloads are kept in a cache folder to be used for reinstalls. The downloads are also available for limited use using n which and n run and n exec. The global npm packages are not changed by the install, with the exception of npm itself which is part of the Node.js install. -

nbstripout
strip output from Jupyter and IPython notebooks
Opens a notebook, strips its output, and writes the outputless version to the original file. Useful mainly as a git filter or pre-commit hook for users who don't want to track output in VCS. This does mostly the same thing as the Clear All Output command in the notebook UI. You can download and install the latest version of nbstripout from PyPI, the Python package index. Strip output from IPython / Jupyter / Zeppelin notebook (modifies the file in-place). Usually, nbstripout is installed per repository so you can choose where to use it or not. You can choose to set the attributes in .gitattributes and commit this file to your repository, however there is no way to have git set up the filters automatically when someone clones a repository. This is by design, to prevent you from executing arbitrary and potentially malicious code when cloning a repository. -

opam is a source-based package manager
Opam is a source-based package manager for OCaml. It supports multiple simultaneous compiler installations, flexible package constraints, and a Git-friendly development workflow. Opam was created and is maintained by OCamlPro. To get started, checkout the Install and Usage guides. Run ./configure. If you don't have the dependencies installed, this will locally take care of all OCaml dependencies for you (downloading them, unless you used the inclusive archive we provide for each release). This is all you need for installing and using opam, but if you want to use the opam-lib (to work on opam-related tools), you need to link it to installed libraries. It's easier to already have a working opam installation in this case, so you can do it as a second step. If you install on your system (without changing the prefix), you will need to install as root (sudo). As sudo do not propagate environment variables, there wil be some errors. -

pretty-quick
Get Pretty Quick
Runs Prettier on your changed files. Pre-commit mode. Under this flag only staged files will be formatted, and they will be re-staged after formatting. Partially staged files will not be re-staged after formatting and pretty-quick will exit with a non-zero exit code. The intent is to abort the git commit and allow the user to amend their selective staging to include formatting fixes. When not in staged pre-commit mode, use this flag to compare changes with the specified branch. Defaults to master (git) / default (hg) branch. Do not resolve prettier config when determining which files to format, just use standard set of supported file types & extensions prettier supports. This may be useful if you do not need any customization and see performance issues. Check that files are correctly formatted, but don't format them. This is useful on CI to verify that all changed files in the current branch were correctly formatted. -

Simple Python version management
pyenv is a tool for the simple management of Python versions: it lets you easily switch between different Python versions, offering support for per-project Python versions. pyenv is an uncomplicated, unobtrusive tool that simply works, and follows the UNIX tradition of single-purpose tools that do one thing well. Unlike other similar tools, pyenv does not depend on Python itself. Having been made from pure shell scripts, it's safe from a Python bootstrap problem. It doesn't need to be loaded into your shell thanks to its shim approach, and can manage virtualenv for you. pyenv is a fork of rbenv and ruby-build, modified for Python. -

Eclipse's Subversive plug-ins allow usage of the Subversion version control from within your Eclipse workspace, however these plug-ins require a SVN connector in order to work. This connector is based on the SVKit toolkit, which in itslef is a pure Java based SVN library.
