Double Commander is a cross platform open source file manager with two panels side by side. It is inspired by Total Commander and features some new ideas.

Conky is a free, light-weight system monitor for X, that displays any kind of information on your desktop. Conky is free software and runs in X on Linux and BSD. Originally a fork of Torsmo, Conky's torsmo-based code is BSD licensed. New code in Conky has been licensed under GPL 3.0. Since its inception, Conky has changed significantly from its predecessor, while maintaining simplicity and configurability. Conky can display just about anything, either on your root desktop, in its own window. Not only does Conky have many built-in objects, it can also display just about any piece of information by using scripts and other external programs. A plethora of OS stats (uname, uptime, CPU usage, mem usage, disk usage, "top" like process stats, and network monitoring, just to name a few). A file manager for the Unix terminal. Unlike most file managers out there, based on the TUI, CliFM is entirely based on command-line. It is also ultra-lightweight, lightning fast, extensible, and written in C.

'di' is a disk information utility, displaying everything (and more) that your 'df' command does. It features the ability to display your disk usage in whatever format you prefer. 'di' also checks the user and group quotas, so that the user sees the space available for their use, not the system wide disk space. 'di' is designed to be portable across many platforms and is great for heterogenous networks.

COOK is a software build-automation tool made with a goal of letting you, the programmer, to utilize the most elegant and powerful programming language - Common Lisp - for managing your software builds. You write a recipe file which describes what objectives must be constructed. COOK will load and process this file, then produce either a regular Makefile or a Bourne Shell script, which will actually perform the task of building and installing your targets.
