    ddrescueview

    ddrescueview

Graphical viewer for GNU ddrescue mapfiles

This small tool allows the user to graphically examine ddrescue's mapfiles in a user friendly GUI application. The Main window displays a block grid with each block's color representing the block types it contains. Many people know this type of view from defragmentation programs. The program is written in Object Pascal using the Lazarus IDE. It can be compiled to run on Windows, GNU/Linux and probably OS X, too. The downloads include binaries for the respective target platform and the project files (source code). Update 2022/02/25: ddrescueview version 0.4.5 has been released. This maintenance release restores compatibility with ddrescue 1.24 and later. Please consider testing this version. Report issues in the bug tracker if you have a sourceforge account, or by email to <mbit-kiel@users.sourceforge.net>

    Hazelcast

    Hazelcast

Open-source distributed computation and storage platform

Hazelcast is a streaming and memory-first application platform for fast, stateful, data-intensive workloads on-premises, at the edge or as a fully managed cloud service. Hazelcast is a distributed computation and storage platform for consistently low-latency querying, aggregation and stateful computation against event streams and traditional data sources. It allows you to quickly build resource-efficient, real-time applications. You can deploy it at any scale from small edge devices to a large cluster of cloud instances. A cluster of Hazelcast nodes share both the data storage and computational load which can dynamically scale up and down. When you add new nodes to the cluster, the data is automatically rebalanced across the cluster and currently running computational tasks (known as jobs) snapshot their state and scale with processing guarantees.

    lakeFS

    lakeFS

lakeFS - Git-like capabilities for your object storage

Increase data quality and reduce the painful cost of errors. Data engineering best practices using git-like operations on data. lakeFS is an open-source data version control for data lakes. It enables zero-copy Dev / Test isolated environments, continuous quality validation, atomic rollback on bad data, reproducibility, and more. Data is dynamic, it changes over time. Dealing with that without a data version control system is error-prone and labor-intensive. With lakeFS, your data lake is version controlled and you can easily time-travel between consistent snapshots of the lake. Easier ETL testing - test your ETLs on top of production data, in isolation, without copying anything. Safely experiment and test on full production data. Easily Collaborate on production data with your team. Automate data quality checks within data pipelines.

    BFG Repo-Cleaner

    BFG Repo-Cleaner

    Remove large or troublesome blobs

The BFG is a simpler, faster alternative to git-filter-branch for cleansing bad data out of your Git repository history. You can use it for removing crazy big files, and for removing passwords, credentials and other private data. The git-filter-branch command is enormously powerful and can do things that the BFG can't, but the BFG is much better for the tasks above, because is faster and simpler. The BFG isn't particularily clever, but is focused on making the above tasks easy. If you need to, you can use the beautiful Scala language to customize the BFG. Which has got to be better than Bash scripting at least some of the time. The BFG will update your commits and all branches and tags so they are clean, but it doesn't physically delete the unwanted stuff. Examine the repo to make sure your history has been updated, and then use the standard git gc command to strip out the unwanted dirty data.

    Xplorer

    Xplorer

Xplorer, a customizable, modern file manager

Xplorer is a modern, cross-platform file manager built from the ground up to meet contemporary file-browsing needs across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Rather than relying on heavy, traditional desktop frameworks, Xplorer uses a hybrid architecture: a web-based frontend (TypeScript + SCSS/HTML) for UI, combined with a backend implemented in Rust to handle file operations, which keeps the application lightweight, memory-efficient, and faster to start. It supports multiple tabs, allowing users to open and manage many directories simultaneously. A key strength is built-in file preview: beyond just listing files, Xplorer lets you preview many file types directly (images, text files with syntax highlighting, and even video preview for supported formats), saving the extra step of opening external viewers. The design emphasizes customization: users can choose themes, customize layouts (grid or detail view), pin favorites in a sidebar, and tailor the experience to their workflow.
