Ns is a discrete event simulator targeted at networking research. Ns provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over wired and wireless (local and satellite) networks.

Minsky brings system dynamics and monetary modelling to economics. Models are defined using flowcharts on a drawing canvas (as are Matlab's Simulink, Vensim, Stella, etc). Minsky's unique feature is the "Godley Table", which uses double entry bookkeeping to generate stock-flow consistent models of financial flows. Minsky is good for demonstrating mathematics too, with the most "math-like" interface in system dynamics. This is a collection of software modifications created to integrate NanoEngineer-1, PACKMOL and MSI2LMP for the purpose of easily creating molecular dynamics cells. NanoEngineer-1 is a molecular CAD software written by Nanorex and provides the user an easy way to create molecules, while the software modifications allow the user to type atoms using multiple force fields. PACKMOL can generate a random collection of molecules using the molecule templates from NanoEngineer-1 thus providing the initial MD cell. Modifications to PACKMOL allow the atom type data to be passed through to the MSI2LMP software. MSI2LMP creates a LAMMPS input file based on class I or class II force fields. MSI2LMP was modified to use numerically coded force field data generated by NanoEngineer-1. NanoHive is a modular simulator used for modelling the physical world at a nanometer scale. The intended purpose of the simulator is to act as a tool for the study and development of nanotech entities. BioFVM is an open source diffusive transport solver for biological problems. It can solve for the diffusion of tens or hundreds of substrates on large 3-D domains. This project presents an extension to ns-2, which enables a normal user, who has basic knowledge of ns-2, to simulate localization system within a wireless network. Moreover, this project would be beneficial to researchers who want to implement new or existing localisation algorithms and anyone new to ns-2 who wish to know more about how a simulation project is built and structured. Wavefront is a programme for simulating 2D acoustic systems, with a particular emphasis on determining wavefront shapes at the mouths of horns. Up to now, OMNET++ and the INET and INETMANET frameworks do not include an opportunistic routing protocol implementation. A careful examination reveals that there are three very distinctive stages in the decision procedure of every opportunistic routing protocol. SAORS takes advantage of this observation and incorporates it in the system architecture. It is based on the DYMO ad-hoc routing protocol. SAORS provides the necessary functions for the development of opportunistic schemes such as access to the node's routing table, a database for storing the Delay-Tolerant messages, as well as the ad-hoc functionality accomplished by DYMO. It is using by default a beacon mechanism to perform the social network discovery. Beacons contain the ID of the transmitting node and its most important social information (as defined by the routing protocol).
