TotalDepth is an Open Source, cross platform, software collection that can process petrophysical data from the oil field such as wireline logs, seismic data and so on. Conventional, proprietary, software for petrophysical data tends to be expensive to licence, restrictive, slow to develop for and tied to expensive hardware. TotalDepth changes all of that. TotalDepth is open and cross-platform, and produces results straight to the bowser. TotalDepth supports such technologies such as HTML5, AJAX, Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud Computing.

trimAl can consider several parameters, alone or in multiple combinations, in order to select the most-reliable positions in the alignment. Moreover, trimAl allows to manually select a set of columns and sequences to be removed from the alignment. trimAl implements a series of automated algorithms that trim the alignment searching for optimum thresholds based on inherent characteristics of the input alignment, to be used so that the signal-to-noise ratio after alignment trimming phase is increased. Among trimAl’s additional features, trimAl allows getting the complementary alignment (columns that were trimmed), to compute statistics from the alignment, to select the output file format , to get a summary of trimAl’s trimming in HTML and SVG formats, and many other options.

Several python libraries implement discrete wavelet transforms. However, none of them, or at least none that I know, is aimed at scientific use. This library aims at filling this gap, in particular considering discrete wavelet transform as described by Percival and Walden. This module started as translation of the wmtsa Matlab toolbox (http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~wmtsa/), so most naming conventions and most of the code structure follows their choices. The code uses a mix of python and cython for improved performance. The code reflects my needs and preferences, but contributions from others are welcome. The Yokogawa WT210 outputs a CSV file through its GPIB-USB interface. The CSV is not easily chartable in Excel/Libreoffice. This will parse the CSV in a way that makes it more easily charted.
