Particle Firmware for the Electron, P1
Device OS (Firmware) for particle devices
The Photon uses an ARM Cortex M3 CPU based microcontroller. All of the code is built around the GNU GCC toolchain offered and maintained by ARM. The build requires version 5.3.1 20160307 or newer of ARM GCC and will print an error message if the version is older than this. In order to turn your source code into binaries, you will need a tool called make. Windows users need to explicitly install make on their machines. Make sure you can use it from the terminal window. The entire Particle firmware is contained in this repository. The main user code sits in the application.cpp file under firmware/user/src/ folder. Unless you know what you are doing, refrain from making changes to any other files. After you are done editing the files, you can rebuild the repository by running the make command in the firmware/main/ directory. If you have made changes to any of the other directories, make automatically determines which files need to be rebuilt and builds them for you. -

ToaruOS

ToaruOS is a "complete" operating system for x86-64 PCs and experimental support for ARMv8. While many independent, hobby, and research OSes aim to experiment with new designs, ToaruOS is intended as an educational resource, providing a representative microcosm of functionality found in major desktop operating systems. The OS includes a kernel, bootloader, dynamic shared object linker, C standard library, its own composited windowing system, a dynamic bytecode-compiled programming language, advanced code editor, and dozens of other utilities and example applications. There are no external runtime dependencies and all required source code, totaling roughly 100k lines of (primarily) C, is included in this repository, save for Kuroko, which lives separately. Through out the project, ToaruOS has also attracted quite a few beginner OS developers who have tried to use it as a reference. -

Vegeta is a versatile HTTP load testing tool built out of a need to drill HTTP services with a constant request rate. It can be used both as a command line utility and a library. You can install Vegeta using the Homebrew package manager on Mac OS X. Both the library and the CLI are versioned with SemVer v2.0.0. After v8.0.0, the two components are versioned separately to better isolate breaking changes to each. CLI releases are tagged with cli/vMAJOR.MINOR.PATCH and published on the Github releases page. As for the library, new versions are tagged with both lib/vMAJOR.MINOR.PATCH and vMAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. The latter tag is required for compatibility with go mod. The JSON format makes integration with programs that produce targets dynamically easier. Each target is one JSON object in its own line. The method and url fields are required. If present, the body field must be base64 encoded. The generated JSON Schema defines the format in detail. -

VulkanSceneGraph (VSG), is a modern, cross-platform, high-performance scene graph library built upon Vulkan graphics/compute API. The software is written in C++17 and follows the CppCoreGuidelines and FOSS Best Practices. The source code is published under the MIT License, with the exception of vulkan.h, used for Vulkan extensions, which is under Apache License 2.0. This repository contains C++ headers and source and CMake build scripts to build the libvsg library. Additional support libraries and examples are provided in separate repositories, links to these are provided below. The software currently builds under Linux (desktops variants through to Jetson & Raspberry Pi), Windows (VisualStudio, MinGW & Cygwin), Android, and macOS & iOS (using MoltenVk). -

nanomsg library
The nanomsg library is a simple high-performance implementation of several "scalability protocols". These scalability protocols are lightweight messaging protocols that can be used to solve a number of very common messaging patterns, such as request/reply, publish/subscribe, surveyor/respondent, and so forth. These protocols can run over a variety of transports such as TCP, UNIX sockets, and even WebSocket. This pattern is useful for solving producer/consumer problems, including load-balancing. Messages flow from the push side to the pull side. If multiple peers are connected, the pattern attempts to distribute fairly. nanomsg is a socket library that provides several common communication patterns. It aims to make the networking layer fast, scalable, and easy to use. Implemented in C, it works on a wide range of operating systems with no further dependencies. The communication patterns, also called "scalability protocols", are basic blocks for building distributed systems. -

spdlog
Fast C++ logging library
spdlog is a header only library. Just copy the files under include to your build tree and use a C++11 compiler. It provides a python like formatting API using the bundled fmt lib. spdlog takes the "include what you need" approach, your code should include the features that actually needed. For example, if you only need rotating logger, you need to include "spdlog/sinks/rotating_file_sink.h". spdlog provides various log targets, which are, rotating log files, daily log files, console logging (colors supported), syslog, Windows event log, and Windows debugger (OutputDebugString(..)). Easily extendable with custom log targets. Log filtering, log levels can be modified in runtime as well as in compile time. Support for loading log levels from argv or from environment var. Backtrace support, store debug messages in a ring buffer and display later on demand. -

The AWS IoT Device Shadow library enables you to store and retrieve the current state (the “shadow”) of every registered device. The device’s shadow is a persistent, virtual representation of your device that you can interact with from AWS IoT Core even if the device is offline. The device state is captured as its “shadow” within a JSON document. The device can send commands over MQTT to get, update and delete its latest state as well as receive notifications over MQTT about changes in its state. Each device’s shadow is uniquely identified by the name of the corresponding “thing”, a representation of a specific device or logical entity on the AWS Cloud. The Fleet Provisioning library enables you to provision IoT devices without device certificates using the Fleet Provisioning feature of AWS IoT Core. For an overview of provisioning options available, see Device provisioning. This library has no dependencies on any additional libraries other than the standard C library, and therefore, can be used with any MQTT library. This library is distributed under the MIT Open Source License. This library has gone through code quality checks including verification that no function has a GNU Complexity score over 8, and checks against deviations from mandatory rules in the MISRA coding standard. Deviations from the MISRA C:2012 guidelines are documented under MISRA Deviations. This library has also undergone static code analysis using Coverity static analysis, and validation of memory safety through the CBMC automated reasoning tool. -

Draco is an open-source library for compressing and decompressing 3D geometric meshes and point clouds. It is intended to improve the storage and transmission of 3D graphics. The code supports compressing points, connectivity information, texture coordinates, color information, normals, and any other generic attributes associated with geometry. Node.js client for Elasticsearch. The client versioning follows the Elastic Stack versioning, this means that major, minor, and patch releases are done following a precise schedule that often does not coincide with the Node.js release times. Language clients are forward compatible; meaning that clients support communicating with greater or equal minor versions of Elasticsearch. Elasticsearch language clients are only backwards compatible with default distributions and without guarantees made. If you are using multiple versions of Elasticsearch, you need to use multiple versions of the client. In the past, install multiple versions of the same package was not possible, but with npm v6.9, you can do that via aliasing. You will require the packages from your code by using the alias you have defined. -

Python API library and shell utilities to monitor file system events. A simple program that uses watchdog to monitor directories specified as command-line arguments and logs events generated. Watchdog comes with an optional utility script called watchmedo. Please type watchmedo --help at the shell prompt to know more about this tool. You can use the shell-command subcommand to execute shell commands in response to events. watchmedo can read tricks.yaml files and execute tricks within them in response to file system events. Tricks are actually event handlers that subclass watchdog.tricks.Trick and are written by plugin authors. Trick classes are augmented with a few additional features that regular event handlers don't need. The directory containing the tricks.yaml file will be monitored. Each trick class is initialized with its corresponding keys in the tricks.yaml file as arguments and events are fed to an instance of this class as they arrive. -
