...This tutorial works with version 4.0.0 of the Flint library. This example creates a 2D particle effect. For 3D particle effects the principles are the same but you use a 3D emitter and 3D behaviours. First create a new Flash file (Actionscript 3). Set the stage size to 500 pixels wide and 400 pixels high, set the frame rate to 30 fps and set the background color to black.
NOTE: This project is on hold permanently... it was eating up too much of my life ;) It's still a good example of how to couple a WPF program with DirectX and OpenGL for 3D rendering. If others are interested in collaborating I'd come back to this or something similar.

InsaneFX is a node-based special effects editor (written mostly in C#) and native runtime (written in C/C++).
It ships with (unoptimized) example renderers for DirectX 9 and OpenGL. To get the most of InsaneFX you will integrate it with your own rendering engine.
The Runtime has a simple OpenGL-like C API.

The goal of this project is to create a fast generator of a volumetric fire animation. The generator uses a short precomputed sequence to produce an endless animation. Packages real-time-fire2.0 and higher contain additionally a heat haze.
