Iris
A modern shaders mod for Minecraft compatible with existing OptiFine
Iris was created to fill a void that I saw in the Minecraft customization and graphical enhancement community: the lack of an open-source shaders mod that would let me load my favorite shader packs on modern versions of the game, while retaining performance and compatibility with modpacks. OptiFine, the current dominant mod for loading shader packs, has restrictive licensing that firmly stands in the way of any sort of tinkering, and is fairly notorious for having compatibility issues with the mods that I like. It's also mutually incompatible with Sodium, the best rendering optimization mod in existence by a large margin. ShadersMod was never updated past 1.12, and it lacks support for many of the many modern popular shaderpacks. Adventure Revisited is my attempt at creating a lightweight but HIGHLY ACCURATE open-source and platform independent version of the classic Atari game Adventure. So what is Adventure Revisited? Is it an emulator? A simulator? A port? This may be the first instance of some sort of bizarre hybrid. As mentioned above, I used a dissassembled and annotated version of the original game's source code as a reference in creating this software. XNA HLSL Particles
A simple particle physics simulation in XNA
...Each particle's velocity is stored in a pixel's rgb values in a texture. The position is stored in a separate texture. The velocity texture is run through an HLSL shader to update the velocities, and then the same sort of thing occurs for the position texture. This allows these calculations to be done on the GPU rather than CPU. The final shader pulls these values from the textures to place and render each particle. This demo includes controls like left-click to attract particles to the mouse cursor, right-click to repel. The mouse controls are poorly mapped to the 3D environment, so expect it to be a little off.
