httpfs depends on FUSE. It uses HTTP/1.1 extensions to read arbitrary bytes from a file on a web-server. This is particular interesting for an iso, since it can be investigated (loop device) without actually downloading the whole iso.

FUSE File system powered by secret sharing scheme
Lecithine is a FUSE (file system in user space) using a secret sharing scheme. You can use Lecithine as regular file system. When writing to disk, data will be devided into randomly chosen pieces (secret shares) and stored into different places. Upon reading, the shares are merged together such that in turn the plaintext results. From a cryptographers point of view, there is no symmetric or private key ever needed to produce a ciphertext. -

The program `sql2textfs` is a custom file system based on FUSE that lets the user mount a database and view all its tables as files of a directory of the filesystem in a POSIX system. The databased tables are viewed as files but in a specific format: All table entries are converted into lines in a file of text. Columns are separated by tab, so all the data of the table is in a tab-delimited text file. -
