An updated Beginners guide to FreeBASIC
The purpose of this project is to create and update a beginners guide to FreeBASIC. Over the years I have noticed that there was only three real ways to learn FreeBASIC. The FreeBASIC Documentation, the FreeBASIC Community Forum, and A old beginners guide written by Richard D. Clark and Ebben Feagan. Each of these sources are great, but they all assume some experience with a programming language. This Project is taking Richard D. Clark's and Ebben Feagan's "A Beginner's Guide to FreeBasic" and is editing, updating, reorganizing, and simplifying this guide. Mr. Clark and Mr. Feagan generously open sourced there guide so I could start this project. Without being able to stand on their shoulders I could not have even started this project. Please check out my homepage for updated information and ways you can help with this ongoing project. If you can please buy me a hamburger as it is hard writing a book. -

Building blocks, small demo apps, and pieces of sample code for Gambas2. Also see more recent Garlic3 project on https://sourceforge.net/projects/garlic3. All can be used to take a look how things can be done in Gambas, not with the idea to supply a product or a finished program. The sourcecode can easily be run from Gambas2 on Linux. Some small programs that appear here are in real use in a small business, but no warranty is given! SimpleDemo contains more complete apps that can be used to demonstrate a working Gambas program. Database is often needed. SimpleSample is more a small piece of sample code as a reminder how gambas works or how something can be done. Empty project is an example of how you can start with some things in place already; just copy the code to any new project, more templates might appear. Feedback is welcomed of course, bugs might be corrected if you create a ticket in the bug list. -

Bingo Cards
Prepare bingo cards game for any educational purpose.
The idea is simple. Instead of solving exercises in serial form in the classroom, it is better to wrap the solving exercises experience with a game similar to Bingo. The students will love it and the teacher will have a very nice time! This extension provides Calc with a tool able to create Bingo Cards and the corresponding interactive document to play the game in the classroom. The teacher type in the Bingo sheet the questions and the corresponding answers and he/she gets the cards in the Bingo Cards sheet. A printer is required to print the BINGO cards and a scissor to cut them apart while the classroom should be equipped with a projector and a computer running OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Download BingoCards-3.1.4.zip and unzip in your computer. Please install the APPROPRIATE .oxt for your system, the other versions will NOT work! Some representative examples are included. This program allows to draw diagrams with chart library, that can be used with dialog applications, based on the RC files designers (such as FbEdit for example). This is the one of the fastest way to create window application with visual design methods, and implement into it an ellegant and flexible chart, that can be choosen from four different diagram kinds (if you edit code and use it in your projects). The source code chart library by Lothar Schirm is based on the consolidated solutions from FireFly Designer by Paul Squires. FB Chart Designer shows the complete example of connection those mentioned solutions to achieve thiny file and less code project.
