Open source note taking and to-do app with synchronization
Joplin is a free and open source note-taking and to-do application that can handle a large number of notes in Markdown format, organize them into notebooks and synchronize them with various cloud services. All notes can also be copied, tagged, searched and modified directly from the app or through your own text editor. Notes that are exported from Evernote can be imported into Joplin, be it formatted content, resources, complete metadata or plain Markdown files. When notes are synchronized with cloud services, notebooks, tags and other metadata can easily be moved, inspected or backed up as plain text files. Zeal is a simple offline documentation browser inspired by Dash. Get binary builds for Windows and Linux from the download page. After installing Zeal go to Tools ⟶ Docsets to browse and download docsets. You can limit search results to specific (or a set of specific) docsets. The docset filter and the search query are delimited by a colon character (:). If you prefer, you can start Zeal with a query from the command line. You can also search multiple docsets separating them with a comma. You can limit the search scope by using ':' to indicate the desired docsets. -

MADR is a template allowing to craft short, medium-sized, and large decision records. There is no formal definition of short, medium-sized, and large decision records. The following sections present an example in the context of assertion frameworks for Java. We start with presenting a very short and dense version: It “just” lists the context and problem statement, the available options, and the outcome. For some decisions, these bits of information could not be enough. Therfore, it is possible to “unpack” the decision. This is done in the presented longer version of the ADR. -

A tool to draw various charts from textual descriptions. Currently, three types of charts are supported: Message Sequence Charts, generic Graphs, and Block Diagrams, with more to be added in the future. Msc-generator allows fine control over the appearance and has a rich feature set complete with detailed documentation. On Windows, you can embed the charts in a document or presentation and simply double-click it in Office to edit them. On Linux and the Mac, a command-line version is available, and a GUI, as well. The devdocs repository powers the DevDocs web application, a fast, offline-friendly documentation browser for many programming languages, libraries, and APIs. It aggregates documentation from multiple sources (e.g., MDN, Python, Ruby, Git, etc.), converts them into a uniform format, and indexes them for instant text searching. The codebase includes a backend that handles ingestion, parsing, and transformation of documentation sources into a static site structure, as well as the client side UI code for browsing, searching, and reading docs in a responsive interface.
