    GnuCOBOL

    GnuCOBOL

    A free COBOL compiler

GnuCOBOL (formerly OpenCOBOL) is a free, modern COBOL compiler. GnuCOBOL implements a substantial part of the COBOL 85, X/Open COBOL and newer ISO COBOL standards (2002, 2014, 2023), as well as many extensions included in other COBOL compilers (IBM COBOL, MicroFocus COBOL, ACUCOBOL-GT and others). GnuCOBOL translates COBOL into C and internally compiles the translated code using a native C compiler. Build COBOL programs on various platforms, including GNU/Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. GnuCOBOL has also been built on HP/UX, z/OS, SPARC, RS6000, AS/400, along with other combinations of machines and operating systems. Copyright 2001-2024 Free Software Foundation, Inc. The cobc compiler is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the FSF; either version 3, or (at your option) any later version. unluac

    A decompiler for Lua 5.x

unluac is a decompiler for Lua 5.0 through 5.4. It runs on Lua chunks that have been compiled with the standard Lua compiler. It requires that debugging information has not been stripped from the chunk. (By default, the Lua compiler includes this debugging information.) This program is written in Java. A JAR package is available in the downloads section so you don't have to compile it. It runs from the command line and accepts a single argument: the file name of a Lua chunk. The decompiled code is printed to the standard output. Here is an example usage of unluac: java -jar unluac.jar myfile.lua > myfile_decompiled.lua The current version also has pretty good support for Lua 5.0 and Lua 5.1. Support for later versions is also good if the code doesn't use too many gotos.

    pascal p5c

fast, portable Pascal compiler using gnu c as intermediate code

p5c is a fast portable iso standard pascal compiler. It is derived from the pascal p5 compiler and creates gnu c code instead of p-code. This makes it very fast since it uses gcc to generate native code. p5c is multi platform - it is easy to get up and running since you only need gcc to start. Using gcc enables extra tools like a static analyser and code coverage analyser. Execution profiling described in the blog here -> https://sourceforge.net/p/pascal-p5c/blog/2017/07/how-to-use-profiling-to-speed-up-p5c-pascal-programs It extends p5 by adding arbitrary set limits and conformant arrays. The project also contains p5x - pascal with extensions to the standard pascal language (underscores allowed in identifiers, otherwise in case statement, constant expressions, etc)

The Open Fortran Project (OFP) provides a Fortran 2008 compliant parser and associated tools. These tools provide a Java and C API for actions called when parser rules are completed. It also provides Fortran interfaces to the OpenCL runtime (new). IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Open Fortran Project has switched to using a parser based on SDF (Syntax Definition Formalism). Please consider using our new work at https://github.com/OpenFortranProject/ofp-sdf. While the SDF parser is not as advanced as the ANTLR-based parser, it provides much more capabilities, including a term rewriting system for creating a Fortran AST (Abstract Syntax Tree) using Stratego/XT (see http://strategoxt.org) and other custom program transformations. The OFP ANTLR-based parser is no longer under active development.

    chibicc

    chibicc

    A small C compiler

chibicc is a small yet highly capable C compiler designed to implement most features of the C11 standard while maintaining a clean and educational codebase. It is intended as both a functional compiler and a learning resource, allowing developers to understand how compilers work by reading and studying its implementation. Despite being categorized as a “toy” compiler, it is powerful enough to compile real-world programs such as Git, SQLite, and libpng without modification. The project is structured incrementally, with each commit representing a step in building a full compiler, making it particularly valuable for educational purposes. It includes support for advanced C features such as floating-point types, variable-length arrays, thread-local storage, and atomic operations. Chibicc also provides clear error messages, helping developers understand compilation issues more effectively.

    QtContribs - Harbour Qt Projects

    QtContribs - Harbour Qt Projects

New home to HbQt, HbIDE & HbDBU once Harbour SVN hosted contribs.

This is the repository to host all those Harbour's contrib libraries and applications which could not comply with strict Harbour project goals but had the potentiality to march into the future. The goal is to keep this repository parallel with Harbours contrib and use the same build system which Harbour uses. This way it will be possible easily to shift any library/application from here to Harbour or vice-verse. As I am totally ignorant of Harbour's build system, it will be appreciated if someone knowledgeable take over this responsibility, which might be one-time task. Welcome to new chapter in Harbour history! Pritpal Bedi a student of software analysis & concepts

    Freebasic Beginners Guide

An updated Beginners guide to FreeBASIC

The purpose of this project is to create and update a beginners guide to FreeBASIC. Over the years I have noticed that there was only three real ways to learn FreeBASIC. The FreeBASIC Documentation, the FreeBASIC Community Forum, and A old beginners guide written by Richard D. Clark and Ebben Feagan. Each of these sources are great, but they all assume some experience with a programming language. This Project is taking Richard D. Clark's and Ebben Feagan's "A Beginner's Guide to FreeBasic" and is editing, updating, reorganizing, and simplifying this guide. Mr. Clark and Mr. Feagan generously open sourced there guide so I could start this project. Without being able to stand on their shoulders I could not have even started this project. Please check out my homepage for updated information and ways you can help with this ongoing project. If you can please buy me a hamburger as it is hard writing a book.
