PingMe is a CLI which provides the ability to send messages or alerts
PingMe is a personal project to satisfy my need to have alerts, most major platforms have integration to send alerts but it's not always useful, either you are stuck with one particular platform, or you have to do a lot of integrations. I needed a small utility that I could just call from my backup scripts, cron jobs, CI/CD pipelines, or from anywhere to send a message with particular information. And I can ship it everywhere with ease. Hence, the birth of PingMe. Everything is configurable via environment variables, and you can simply export the logs or messages to a variable that will be sent as a message, most of all this serves as a swiss army knife sort of tool that supports multiple platforms. -

peco (pronounced peh-koh) is based on a python tool, percol. percol was darn useful, but I wanted a tool that was a single binary, and forget about python. peco is written in Go, and therefore you can just grab the binary releases and drop it in your $PATH. peco can be a great tool to filter stuff like logs, process stats, find files, because unlike grep, you can type as you think and look through the current results. I wrote v2, supporting TCP/IP and Windows which was an upgrade from the v1 that was COM-port oriented and written by my father in QuickBasic eXtended (QBX) 7.1 around 1988. Not all ESC-codes have been implemented, only basics, which is all we needed. The only thing that was changed since 2002 is that I've upgraded the project to .NET Framework 4.8.1, fixed the creating of registry keys to store the settings and used Control.Invoke in 3 places where async methods are used, while apparently back in .NET 2 (I guess) that wasn't necessary. ... -
