Goofy
Desktop client for Facebook Messenger
Goofy is a macOS client for Facebook Messenger. But unlike most other clients, it does not use any of Facebook's APIs, but is basically a single-site browser that injects a little CSS and JS into messenger.com to make it a little more app-like. Feel free to create issues on this repo for feature requests of any kind. However, some features may not be possible due to the way this application is working. Also, I don't want this to be a feature-bloated monster, but a slick and small app. Depending on the number of contributors and the progress of this app, I will schedule releases from time to time, which will then be distributed on goofyapp.com. To debug, there's a VSCode launch.json that can be used to debug the Electron app. To debug the Facebook JavaScript changes you'll need to use the Chrome Web Inspector. -

Rasa is an open source machine learning framework to automate text-and voice-based conversations. Rasa enables you to build assistants that can do this in a scalable way. Rasa uses Poetry for packaging and dependency management. If you want to build it from the source, you have to install Poetry first. By default, Poetry will try to use the currently activated Python version to create the virtual environment for the current project automatically. -

Telegram offers great apps for mobile communication. It is based on the MTProto protocol and has an Open API. I personally like Telegram for its speed and cloud-support (that makes a web app possible, unlike in the case of WA and others). MTProto data can be carried over HTTP (SSL is also supported), so this project is my take at creating one. Hosted version: the app is downloaded via HTTPS as a usual website. Will be available offline due to application cache. Packed version, the app is downloaded at once in a package via HTTPS. The package is updated less frequently than the Web-version. The app is based on the AngularJS JavaScript framework, and written in pure JavaScript. jQuery is used for DOM manipulations, and Bootstrap as the CSS-framework. The project repository is based on angularjs-seed and includes gulp tasks, so it's easy to launch the app locally on your desktop. -

CSS-Only Chat
A truly monstrous async web chat using no JS whatsoever
css-only-chat is a proof-of-concept demonstration that implements a functioning chat interface using only HTML and CSS, without any JavaScript or backend logic. The project showcases creative use of CSS selectors, checkboxes, labels, and the :checked pseudo-class to mimic interactive behaviors normally handled by JavaScript. Messages are pre-written in the HTML and displayed based on user interaction, making it more of a playful experiment than a real messaging platform. Its main purpose is to illustrate the limits of CSS as a programming and UI tool, serving as both an educational example and a bit of humor within the developer community. By pushing CSS beyond its conventional role, it demonstrates how user interfaces can be simulated through styling tricks and static structures. Although not suitable for production use, it stands as a fun exercise in front-end creativity and unconventional coding challenges. -

Are you worried Discord is watching what programs you have open or listening to your mic even while you're not pressing your push-to-talk key? Discord-Sandbox isolates the Discord client from reading background processes by running the Discord web client inside of a webview, which is finally contained inside the Electron process. While I cannot guarantee this client protects you from anything, I have tried my best to remove Discord's data collection. As detailed from Luna Mendes' discord-unofficial-docs, Discord sends telemetry data over the /api/science endpoint. This project does its best to disable this telemetry communication by running javascript code into the webview that adds a blacklist/whitelist to the default XMLHttpRequest behavior. In this way, we explicitly block all communication with the science address, while simultaneously whitelisting addresses needed for minimum Discord functionality. SimpleXMQ is a message broker for managing message queues and sending messages over a public network. It consists of an SMP server, SMP client library, and SMP agent that implements SMP protocol for client-server communication and SMP agent protocol to manage duplex connections via simplex queues on multiple SMP servers. SMP protocol is inspired by Redis serialization protocol, but it is much simpler - it currently has only 10 client commands and 8 server responses.
