    Kashyyyk

    Kashyyyk

    A Work-In-Progress, Full-Featured, Open Source IRC Client

Kashyyyk is full featured, open source, cross platform IRC client. It was originally written to replace HexChat on OS X. At the time, HexChat (a fork of XChat) had only had a single release on OS X, which was still in alpha. Kashyyyk is extremely small, the binaries and related libraries totaling around half a megabyte. Kashyyyk also has very few external dependencies, the official binaries statically linking all supporting libraries. Kashyyyk is natively available for OS X, Windows,...

    fPotencia

    fPotencia

    Power flow library in C++

fPotencia is the fruit of free time and passion for power systems simulation. After observing the lack of ready-to-implement libraries for power system analisys, and that the existing ones focus on command line workflow, I decided myself to start a project to fill the gap. Since Power system simulations have started needing to be executed in parallel, the old C-like designs are outdated; modular design is now needed to launch many simulations at the same time based on a base circuit. fPotencia is programmed in C++, but my intention is to bring JAVA, C#, Python and perhaps MATLAB versions of it. ...

    TBasic

A simple BASIC interpreter written in C++

TBasic is an implementation of a minimalist BASIC (based on the Tiny Basic specification but with a few significant additions) in the C++ language. It was written for fun, as a project to create a functional language interpreter from scratch and to be potentially used as a lightweight scripting language (it can either be used as a classic command line BASIC interpreter or as a class that allows a C++ programs to load and run basic programs, register custom basic commands and interact with basic variables).

The library computes the greatest common divisor of two univariate integer polynomials, whose coefficients are represented by multiple-precision integers provided by the GMP library. I wrote the code originally for CGAL, in 2007, but it was later removed for maintenance reasons.

    Kyle's Game Engine

    Kyle's Game Engine

    Small OpenGL based game enegine

This is a small project I have been working on in my spare time for enrichment. This used to compile for Sony PSP, but too much functionality has been added sense the last PSP build to compile. Development happens on a tiny netbook and my custom built gaming rig. The goal is to make it playable on the Netbook, and currently acceptable on a capable machine.

    SVG_plot

Plot data in SVG format using C++ library

The SVG_plot C++ library allows, with a few lines of C++ code, to add plotting of data, held in STL containers like vector and map, output as SVG files that can be viewed by all modern browsers. 1D, 2D and Boxplots can be produced, and there are a myriad of options to control appearance. The plots are very high quality and can be expanded without loss of quality (no pixelation!) but are tiny, (compared for a Microsoft Excel plot, for example) and are easily compressible, making them suitable for real-time transmission and update. The SVG_plot project was originally written by Jake Voytko in 2007 as a Boost-sponsored Google Summer of Code project in 2007. It has been maintained and enhanced since then in Boost Sandbox, but is judged unsuitable for a Boost Library, so now being made more widely available here. ...

    HyperGUI

    HyperGUI

A GUI based on libSDL for C++ applications

...In a game or other dynamic multimedia program, the screen (or part of it) is redrawn and refreshed tens of times a second, so there is no need for GUI to ask more refreshes in response of input events; and in a static application each event may change a tiny part of the screen, and only that part needs redrawing. HyperGUI has the flexibility to work in both states.

    Fish4Knowledge Project

    Analysis of undersea fish videos

The Fish4knowledge project investigated: information abstraction and storage methods for analyzing undersea video data (from 10E+15 pixels to 10E+12 units of information), machine and human vocabularies for detecting & describing fish, flexible process architectures to process the data and scientific queries and effective specialised user query interfaces. A combination of computer vision, database storage, workflow and human computer interaction methods were used to achieve this. The project used live video feeds from 10 underwater cameras as a testbed for investigating more generally applicable methods for capture, storage, analysis and querying of multiple video streams. We collated a public database from 3 years containing video summaries of the observed fish and associated descriptors. ...

Musket - short read error corrector

a parallel short-read error corrector for Illumina sequencing

Musket is an efficient multistage k-mer based corrector for Illumina short read data. This corrector employs the k-mer spectrum approach and introduces three correction techniques in a multistage workflow. Our performance evaluation results, in terms of correction quality and de novo genome assembly measures, reveal that Musket is consistently one of the top performing substitution-error-based correctors. In addition, Musket is multi-threaded using a master-slave model and demonstrates superior parallel scalability compared to all other evaluated correctors as well as a highly competitive overall execution time.
