URI.js is a javascript library for working with URLs. It offers a "jQuery-style" API (Fluent Interface, Method Chaining) to read and write all regular components and a number of convenience methods like .directory() and .authority(). URI.js offers simple, yet powerful ways of working with query string, has a number of URI-normalization functions and converts relative/absolute paths. While URI.js provides a jQuery plugin. URI.js itself does not rely on jQuery. You don't need jQuery to use URI.js. URI.js (without plugins) has a gzipped weight of about 7KB, if you include all extensions you end up at about 13KB. So unless you need second level domain support and use URI templates, we suggest you don't include them in your build. Writing efficient user interfaces is the main maxim, here at Vimperator labs. We often follow the Vim way of doing things, but extend its principles when necessary. Towards this end, we’ve created the liberator library for Mozilla-based applications, to encapsulate as many of these general principles as possible, and liberate developers from the tedium of reinventing the wheel.´Vimperator is a Firefox browser extension with strong inspiration from the Vim text editor, with a mind towards faster and more efficient browsing. It has similar key bindings and you could call it a modal web browser, as key bindings differ according to which mode you are in. For example, it has a special Hint mode, where you can follow links easily with the keyboard only. Also most functionality is available as commands, typing:back will go back within the current page history, just like hitting the back button in the toolbar.

Visibility.js is a small JavaScript library that wraps the native Page Visibility API to give developers an easy interface for detecting when a user’s browser tab becomes visible, hidden, or is in prerendering mode. Its main purpose is to let web applications adapt behavior depending on whether the page is actually being viewed — for example, pausing animations, postponing heavy computations, or stopping unnecessary network requests when the user switches to another tab.
