React Hot Loader is a plugin that allows React components to be live reloaded without the loss of state. It works with Webpack and other bundlers that support both Hot Module Replacement (HMR) and Babel plugins. HMR allows us to replace modules in-place without restarting the server. Here’s how you can enable it for different bundlers. The easiest and fastest option to use React Hot Loader with Webpack is to use webpack-dev-server with --hot CLI option. If you’re only rendering on the client side but you have to use some custom node server, this is still an easy option. You can simply copy server.js from the official boilerplate into your project. The important part of the configuration is that when you create a new WebpackDevServer, you need to specify hot: true as an option. -

React Performance Devtool is a browser extension for inspecting the performance of React Components. It statistically examines the performance of React components based on the measures which are collected by React using window.performance API. Along with the browser extension, the measures can also be inspected in a console. A demo of the extension being used to examine the performance of React components on my website. Performance measures can also be logged to a console. With every re-render, measures are updated and logged to the console. To use this devtool extension, you'll need to register an observer in your app which will observe a collection of data (performance measures) over time. Registering an observer hooks an object containing information about the events and performance measures of React components to the window object, which can then be accessed inside the inspected window using eval(). -

An EXPERIMENTAL Webpack plugin to enable "Fast Refresh" (also known as Hot Reloading) for React components. This plugin is not 100% stable. We're hoping to land a v1 release soon, please help us by reporting any issues you've encountered! Ensure that you are using at least the minimum supported versions of this plugin's peer dependencies - older versions, unfortunately, do not contain code to orchestrate "Fast Refresh", and thus cannot be made compatible. For most setups, we recommend integrating using babel-loader. It covers the most use cases and is officially supported by the React team. If you haven't done so, set up your development Webpack configuration for Hot Module Replacement (HMR). This plugin integrates with the most common Webpack HMR solutions to surface errors during development, in the form of an error overlay. -
