It supports ShoutCast and IceCast and runs on Linux, MacOS and Windows. The main purpose of butt is to stream live audio data from your computers Mic or Line input to an Shoutcast or Icecast server. Recording is also possible. It is NOT intended to be a server by itself or automatically stream a set of audio files.

Streamripper records shoutcast-compatible streams. For shoutcast style streams it finds the "meta data" or track separation data, and uses that as a marker for where the track should be separated.

Conceived as an internet radio Shoutcast/Icecast client and DJ console IDJC has two main media players, a background track player, effects buttons, crossfader, webm, aac, ogg, and mp3 streaming, stream automation timers, aux input, voice and VoIP integration. Media file formats include: mp3, ogg, flac, wma, wav, m4a, m3u, xspf, pls, and cue sheet support, IRC track and station announcements, uses jack audio connection kit to provide a flexible audio chain. PortMedia was created to develop and share cross-platform, open-source I/O libraries for digital media including MIDI, video, and audio. Only a few things were released under the PortMedia umbrella. These are now hosted by the github.com/Portmidi/ project, where you can find the lastest versions of PortMidi, portsmf (Standard MIDI File support and more), and see github.com/rbdannenberg/scorealign for MIDI and/or Audio score alignment.

A simple light-weight tool for editing smaller soundfiles. Because Sound Studio uses Sox, it can cope with a wide variety of audio file formats. Because it is written mostly in Tcl/tk, it is easily extensible

WavSplit splits large WAV files at given time positions. To find out split positions you can use any WAV player or editor with a time display.

MelodyDB is an application which allows a query by example interface to searching a musical database. Input is via waveform audio with the ability to select alternate DSP and pattern matching algorithms. It was conceived in my honours year 2003.

PitchTempoPlayer (PTPlayer) is an audio player for Linux that allows to change pitch and speed (tempo) of the sound independently of each other. Fine tuning (less than half tone) is also possible, as well recording, exporting the modified audio file and managing a playlist. It is based on GTK-3 and GSTREAMER-1.0. It is compatible with Jack.
