A huge files block differential compressor
A differential compresor (or a binary diff) for huge files. Unlike other tools, e.g. xdelta3, it searches for matching data through the whole source file, even if it weights several gigabytes, while using much less memory (with default configuration approx 25x less than the size of the source file). Output files are not compressed, so you can use any compressor you like with great results. It is quite fast for very similar files (about the speed of hdd, however it reads input files twice) and not much worse on files with lots of differences. -

Filecalibur
A file manager to sort huge collections of files.
Filecalibur calculates hashes of the analyzed files (using hashdeep) and stores them in text files. Using this hash files, differences or modifications of files within this collections are identified and used to modify other collections. It uses rsync to synchronize filecollections with each other. In the end Filecalibur does nothing what you would not be able to do by hand - but here you can keep track of several tousand files. -

The BackupTool was developed using Qt/C++ and the libraries QuaZip and zLib. It is a tool to help the backup control. The user can backup files and folders in .zip or .iso file. The backup contains date and time of its creation and the user can also write a description that will be saved inside the backup file. The software also offers a recovery tool from an existing backup (for .zip files) and the possibility of burning CD/DVD in case of .iso files. -
