Isembard-OS is a extremely small kernel for ARM based systems (initially the BeagleBoard). Rather than the traditional Process/Threads approach to multi-tasking, Isembard-OS uses a concept that allows threads to move through memory maps to perform tasks. The kernel and basic memory management code should fit in a couple of pages (i.e. about 8k) of RAM, and provide in the region of ten system calls and the ability to make secure inter-map calls to objects exported from memory maps. -
