Marlin is a popular open source firmware for the RepRap family of 3D printers. It is straightforward, reliable, extensible and adaptable, which is why it is used by many respected commercial 3D printer vendors as well as hobbyists. It runs on inexpensive 8-bit Atmel AVR micro-controllers, with added support for 32-bit and ARM-based boards. Marlin builds can be small enough for use on a headless printer with only modest hardware, and features can be enabled as-needed. -

Marlin++
C++ RepRap firmware based on Marlin
Rework of Marlin RepRap based firmware on ATmega2560 and Ramps board. Original firmware sources was reduced and modified into C++ language to allow more simple modification. Actually firmware is tested on dual-head modification of Rebel II printer and on home-made CoreXY single head printer. Also Simpson GUS printer (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3963919) shall be supported but was not tested on last release versions. -

This java application takes input images of an object on a a known sheet of paper and produce a realistic 3d triangulated model of the object. It is designed to integrate the software with the Reprap project to create a simple "3d photocopier". The software was written for a PhD thesis and is currently in an incomplete state.

Cad.py
Converts an image to Gcode for pen plotting, laser cutting or milling.
...Here it has been modified so as to work with Makerbot Unicorn pen plotting, solenoids for lifting a pen or turning a laser on/off and in its original state. The output Gcodes have also been modified to work with more up to date reprap style firmware and hosts. All credit for cad.py goes to the original creator Neil Gershenfeld of MIT Center for Bits and Atoms and David Carr of Make Your Bot who optimised the code that is in use here. -
