The goal of the project is the realization of a modular firmware that allows to control a CNC machine with different utensils. For instance, a CNC with a drill, with few changes can become a plotter with a pen or cutting machine to cut cardboard or stickers. In order to do that, we want project a CNC router with a mechanism that allows a fast utensil change and a controlling firmware which can use different utensils changing some configuration parameters. -

I am using a RAMPS 1.4 board to connect the hardware and to leave plenty of optional connections for the community to work with. The second is the Android companion app which will be coded to work over Bluetooth to give the slider an easy user interface. A simple android wear companion app is also planned. The third will come much later which is a PC app to control the slider over USB or Bluetooth. -

Red CNC is an Android application to allow control of the 3D routing machine by the same name. It allows the user to configure the machine properties, such as workable volume, tool size, etc. Once set, the user loads a G-Code file and gets a 3D view of the tool path. Lastly, the user can then start processing the job by sending commands to an Arduino.
