Open Slider is a project to control everything from a simple camera slider to controlling a pan/tilt head as well as the camera shutter function. This project is intended to be at or near a professional level in terms of features and usability. Being open source means you can customize it and using open source parts means it is mostly plug and play.

Open Slider consists of 2-3 software packages.

The first is the firmware coded for an Arduino Mega 2560 to run the slider's hardware. I am using a RAMPS 1.4 board to connect the hardware and to leave plenty of optional connections for the community to work with.

The second is the Android companion app which will be coded to work over Bluetooth to give the slider an easy user interface. A simple android wear companion app is also planned.

The third will come much later which is a PC app to control the slider over USB or Bluetooth.
