Mobile release summary
Feral Interactive has brought Total War: MEDIEVAL II to smartphones, offering a close recreation of the desktop strategy title. This mobile version aims to preserve the original game's scope and spectacle while introducing a touchscreen-optimized interface so players can command armies from their phones.
Setting and core gameplay
Total War: MEDIEVAL II transports you to the medieval era (roughly 1080–1530). On the strategic campaign map you manage a faction, expand territories and make diplomatic choices in turn-based fashion, then resolve large-scale engagements in real-time tactical battles. The mobile edition retains the series’ mix of long-term strategy and battlefield tactics.
Touch controls and UI improvements
Feral redesigned the control scheme for smaller screens, providing a bespoke touch interface that streamlines issuing orders and managing units. You can still direct formations of knights, archers and infantry, and the iteration includes refinements from the studio’s previous mobile ports to make unit selection, movement and group commands easier on a touchscreen. Settlement administration and campaign systems have also been updated to support more strategic options on mobile.
Notable limitations and requirements
- The mobile release includes fewer playable factions than the original PC edition.
- You will need about 4.38 GB of free storage to install and run the app properly.
- Only a limited set of device models and brands are officially supported; older phones may be blocked from purchasing the game.
Who should consider it?
If you already enjoy the Total War series, this mobile port is likely worth trying — it preserves much of the PC experience and lets you play large battles away from your desktop. Just be prepared with a powerful, up-to-date device and enough free storage, and double-check that your phone model is on the supported list before buying.
