The mobile application provides a direct link between owners and their Tesla vehicles and energy systems. It lets you manage vehicle settings from a distance, keep track of charging and battery status, and oversee home energy flows when a Powerwall is present. Several remote conveniences — from climate preparation to vehicle location — are available at your fingertips.

Remote vehicle management

• Sound the horn or flash the lights to find a parked car.
• Lock or unlock the doors remotely.
• Warm up or cool down the cabin before you get in.
• Check charging status and battery level in real time.
• Begin or stop charging sessions from the app.

Navigation and entertainment controls

• Send destinations straight to the vehicle’s navigation system.
• Allow passengers to control music and media playback from their devices.
• Get turn-by-turn directions to the car’s location if it’s parked.

Assistance features and updates

• Use summon-like functionality (with Autopilot-equipped cars) to maneuver the vehicle out of tight spots.
• Push over-the-air software updates and install them remotely.

Home energy monitoring (Powerwall)

• Track solar energy generation and how much is stored.
• View household energy consumption and how much power is exported to the grid.
• Export or download production and usage reports for review.

Note: Powerwall monitoring and related functions are available only to owners of Powerwall 2 units.
