Premise and player roles
Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter set in dense, isolated jungles. Matches pit a single Predator against a four-person Fireteam. As a human operative you must infiltrate hostile territory, complete randomized objectives, and reach an extraction point. If you choose the Predator, your goal is to stalk and eliminate the Fireteam using advanced alien weaponry and mobility.
Match flow and objectives
Each round drops five players into a large jungle map: one player controls the Predator and four players form the Fireteam. The soldiers receive a series of tasks that often include tracking AI targets, gathering items, and holding positions against waves of guerrillas and rogue operatives. Success requires completing objectives and surviving until the extraction helicopter arrives — but the Predator is actively hunting while you work.
Predator playstyle versus soldier tactics
- Fireteam combat plays like a conventional first-person shooter, focusing on coordinated gunplay, positioning, and objective control.
- Predator gameplay emphasizes vertical movement, stealth, and unique tools that reward tactical stalking and ambushes.
- Despite its fearsome reputation, the Predator can be downed by concentrated gunfire, so disciplined teamwork can turn the tide.
Gear and customization
You earn experience points every match, regardless of outcome, and can use them to unlock new weapons, class options, and cosmetic customizations. Examples of Predator equipment include:
- Plasma Caster
- Combistick
- Cloaking device
- Wrist blades
Visuals, sound, and performance
The game leans into cinematic presentation: detailed character models, lush jungle environments, and music/costuming inspired by the films contribute to an authentic Predator atmosphere. The Predators move smoothly through the canopy, improving traversal compared with earlier titles from the developer. Note, however, occasional frame-rate drops and mature content that make the experience unsuitable for younger players.
Special editions and added content
A recent update introduced the Feral Predator and new custom gear. There are also two paid editions that expand the roster and cosmetic variety.
Jungle Edition lineup:

- City Hunter ('97)
Yautja Edition highlights:

Final impressions
Predator: Hunting Grounds captures the core cat-and-mouse tension from the films while delivering a straightforward, accessible asymmetrical multiplayer loop. With varied maps, classes, and unlockable gear, it’s an entertaining weekend pick for fans of the franchise and of squad-versus-monster multiplayer games.
