(from an exchange between Henry and JC)
JC:
----------------------------
-search total project memory (what has been translated already,
project_save.tmx and all the backup TMX)
-search current project memory (what has been translated already,
project_save.tmx)
-search strict project memory (what has been translated in the
current source files, basically what would be the contents of an
exported TMX)
-search reference TMs (contents of /tm/)
-search glossaries (contents of /glossaries/)
-search files (any specified set of supported files)
----------------------------
Henry:
----------------------------
That's an overwhelming amount of options.
----------------------------
JC:
----------------------------
Well, we can split that in 2: project data/reference data
Not really overwhelming :)
-reference data
(includes:
reference TMs
glossaries
reference files)
In fact, reference data should include TMs and glossaries by default
(currently only TM) and would include reference files only _if_ a
location is entered. So we only have _one_ check box: Search
references (instead of Search TMs) and we remove the "Search files"
check box since the location is automatically included in the
reference search if it is ON. As for "recursive search", it would be
as now, only triggered if a location is entered.
As for project search, well, we have:
-project data
includes:
"only current source files" equivalent to "only translated segments"
(default project search includes non translated and orphan
segments)
add backup memories
The search could look like:
Search for: [search field ] {Search}
o Exact search o Keywords search
□ Case sensitive □ Regular expressions
----------------------------
display space
----------------------------
□ Search only translated segments □ Search also
backup memories
□ Search reference data (TMs, glossaries) □ Recursive
search (available only if location is entered)
{add reference files} [location path]
Mostly implemented in SVN (/trunk).
What we have now is
Search in:
-Search in project
Memory TMs Glossaries
-Search in files
If there are other related requests, new RFEs should be created.

Implemented in the released version 3.0.0 of OmegaT.
