I bought this scale last winter to use for selling stuff on eBay. I run openSuSE 11.1 on my Acer Aspire One. It took me a bit of fiddling around to get this to work. The command for me was "sudo -E test.pl /dev/hiddev0". This is a great step in the right direction. I wish I were a programmer myself, because I'd love to take this and make it work for use with PayPal's integrated USPS shipping functionality. Thanks a bunch! FYI: The manufacturer's name associated with the device in lsusb is Holtek Semiconductor, Inc., device ID 04d9:e002.
