SiteBox is a Content Management System(CMS)/Web Portal development base. It's modular design allows you to develop a website with the functionality you want. For the non web developers SiteBox also comes pre-packaged with a news web portal, SiteBox-News

SiteBox has changed it's packaging slightly. SiteBox is now a CMS/Web Portal development base. It allows you to develop your own Content Management System or Web Portal. This means that SiteBox no longer gets released with all the news modules. If you download the SiteBox package you will get a pretty useless non-functional website. The SiteBox package is now aimed at web developers. Never Fear. SiteBox-News is the SiteBox news portal that SiteBox has always been in the past. You can upgrade your SiteBox websites by using the SiteBox-News package. I hope this hasn't been too confusing. :) - Roy
April 2002 Version beta 4 * Added support for limited BB Code * Added Comment administration * Added theme administration * Modified module installation so that you unzip the module by hand then install the module. This will be the case until I believe the zip functions in PHP to be stable. (hopefully with PHP 4.2. I have been informed a fix has been added) * Modified themes so that the layout can be specified by the theme as well (Just create a layout.php file in the theme directory to change the site layout) * Fixed an administrator bug affecting the administrator permissions across multiple sites. * Installer no longer needs a database root username and password. You can now create the database manually and use that database.
