I have tried to right click absolutely everywhere on and off the map and can not get anything to pop up (the right click works elsewhere so this is not a mouse issue). Also, I have never seen the control panel box (but know what it should look like from the MeV manual). If it is somehow off by default, how can I turn it back on?

Can you do the following:
Go to Finder -> type Console -> Launch the Console app.
Then Launch MeV from MeV.app
Follow the steps you are doing to reproduce the problem
GO back to Console and copy the output regarding the MeV application from there and send it to us.
Also the link that you posted here for the data asks for a user name passwd. Can you post the new sample set again and let...

I'm having the same problem again trying to load a different dataset (with equal mark-up as the previous one). Switching the java version did not help this time. Hope that someone can help me out.

Hi Jenny,
The right click functionality worked just fine for me. You need to right click on the map itself. Also the control panel is by default enabled and visible. You can make it disappear if you want by unchecking the control panel check box.

4.5 did not resolve the issue, I still can't right click on the terrain map to access the control panel.

I was able to resolve the Terrain map error message, and generate a terrain map. Unfortunately now the right-click option will not work. Is there anything I can do to enable this feature? I can't really use the terrain map if I can't access the control panel?

Here is how you go about finding the version
1. Change your analysis filename extension to zip. On windows you can right click the file, hit rename and change the extension to zip.
2. Open the zip file and look for a mev_state.xml file.
3. On opening the mev_state.xml you will come across a tag that says void property="mevMajorVersion". The number immediately below this tag is...

How do you know which version my files are from? I don't remember which version I used to save them.

Hi Eva,
State saving in Mev has been through several overhauls. Saved analysis from versions below 4.X can no longer be loaded in MeV. You should be able to open saved analysis files from version 4.x and beyond without any issues.
The only exception to this rule is version 4.0 beta files.
They aren't guaranteed to be compatible, since it was a beta version. Files saved with v4.0beta...
