zsh offers cross-shell command history on the same server, but of course not between two servers. iTerm has "broadcast input", but that's not quite what I want. I'd like to try a command on a staging server, see that it works, then cut-and-paste that last command to the production server. You mentioned that this could be part of shell integration; ideally, it wouldn't require any...

When you type a long command, and you run it only to find out you need to change a little something at the beginning of it, it takes half an hour to wait for character by character scrolling. In Terminal when you hold ALT down it will scroll word by word. I find that useful. Can we have a similar feature here or if not the very same behavior? Thank you very much for your work on this, it's...

Is there any way to create a split pane out of an existing tab? Specifically, I've got two tabs or two windows and I want to make them into one tab with two split panes. Thanks.

When I open a .command file using iTerm, it will run the script and then close the window. This is similar behavior to other terminal emulators I've used. However, it differs from the behavior of Terminal.app, which leaves the window open when a script is done executing. Is there any setting or way to make iTerm operate the same way? Thanks.

while hoping to "jiggle" the prefs to get it to work, I removed the saved window arrangement. Now I see I can't add another window arrangement... see snapshot.

just upgraded to 1.0.0.20120203 on Mac OS 10.7 Now ignores my 'open default window arrangement' which is an arrangement with no windows. Also, if i close all the windows, background the app; when I bring it to the foreground it opens a default window again.

In my opinion, a new shell window should open by default, as it was before the update. Using packetmangler's workaround, I was able to achieve my desired goal, but it was not ideal. Please switch it back to how it was. (New window on startup by default)

If you save the window arrangement, that check box becomes usable and window(s) will then open when you start iTerm.

I gave up trying to find the offending data preventing iterm from launching and downloaded iterm2 here - http://www.iterm2.com. This solved my issue. When in doubt, upgrade.

I'm running into the same issue of myself, using OS X 10.7.2, iTerm Build 0.10. It's something with the user profile because I just tried it as a different user on the same machine and was able to launch it. If I'm able to find the offending file(s), I'll post the result here.
