iTerm is an enhanced terminal emulator program for MacOS X written in Objective-C. It features VT100/ANSI/XTERM emulation, full i18n support, full-screen, multi-tab and other convenient GUI features.

    tried dragging icon over to aplication folder but couldnt find where it went too. Then I saw it between my name and applications on my "PLACES" list, as well as it popped into my dashboard. I wish I could have been forwarned of the actions. For some reason I could upload the latest version in the process because of it. So we are good for now. Would recomment.

    Choosing between terminal.app and iterm.app seems to be a balance between getting 256 colours + tabs with iterm or a responsive app that doesn't lag when large amounts of text come in. iTerm is just not responsive enough for me.
