Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Windows Explorer details view that displays the sizes of files and folders. A service scans your hard disk in the background and caches the results. Designed for performance!

It does what I need, but it would be handier as a column in File Explorer, the type of column that can be added or removed via RMB-click on the Details header.

This is a pretty clumsy tool. When I used it, it brought up a large window showing space utilization that remained on the screen all the time. That seems totally unnecessary. I don't *always* need to see a map of sizes. Oddly, there is a shareware app of the same name (i.e. also called Folder Size) that I got confused with this. I much prefer it as it integrates into the OS so if I right click on a folder, I can get a cool interactive graph of space utilization for that folder structure -- i.e. it's there when I need it. It's really a must have tool. There's a freeware version at www . mindgems . com that serves most needs I have.

Interesting tool!! Other than this, One of the interesting tools that I found recently is DuplicateFilesDeleter. It is tool that can be used to find & remove duplicate files. It is a simple to use,but very effective tool to locate duplicate files in one or more selected search paths. It scans the files and compares them based on Byte for Byte Comparison, which ensures 100% accuracy. You can then choose to delete the selected duplicate or original files. The program is multi-threaded which enhances the performance immensely & performs scans very quickly. You should try it.
