WinDirStat (WDS) is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Windows. It shows disk, file and directory sizes in a treelist as well as graphically in a treemap, much like KDirStat or SequoiaView.
This is one of those ageless gems you find from time to time. If you are helping people to set up programs, partitions, and drives, this is exactly the tool you can use to see what they have and where it is. The colours are a gaudy riot, a bit of fun on the side while you are doing serious work. If you like Nir Sofer's utilities or those of Alex Nolan, I'll bet you find yourself very happy with Oliver Schneider's WinDirStat.
I've installed this marvel on a server. It works miracles when you are running out of space and have to go hunting for the user/application hogging your disk space.
This program - although handy has not been updated for years!! It could be made so much better! You could make it a TSR or Service in the background You could give it more features, make it more interactive and more appealing, the times are changing, your app should evolve.
