Equalizer APO is a parametric equalizer for Windows. It is implemented
as an Audio Processing Object (APO) for the system effect infrastructure
introduced with Windows Vista.
- virtually unlimited number of filters (currently limited to 100 per channel for sanity)
- works on any number of channels
- very low latency, which makes it suited for interactive applications
- low cpu usage
- Windows Vista or later (currently only Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 have been tested)
- Sound card driver must support APOs (this includes most onboard sound drivers)
- The application must not bypass the system effect infrastructure
(possible by using special APIs like ASIO)
Equalizer APO is best used in conjunction with Room EQ Wizard (http://www.hometheatershack.com/roomeq/), because it can read its filter text file format.
Please have a look at the Wiki (http://sourceforge.net/p/equalizerapo/wiki/) for instructions on installation and configuration.
Just the tool I needed for my poor Bluetooth headset. Thanks! And I've made a GUI for it. sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/ Suggestions are welcome Thanks Jonas
How can i donate money for you to continue developing this amazing thing? Unbelievable :O
Install. Reboot. Open config file. Steal a config file. Use my audio settings EQ as reference. Profit. Here guys. Have a premade EQ with a smooth boost and a fresh trebble without no annoying mids. Took 15 minutes to set up. Read the tutorial carefully if you are not familiar with APO, and even if you are because the non-GUI nature of the program requires you to understand a few things. I had to remove the Realtek drivers, but Win8.1 fetched some other drivers which did not have any Realtek GUI, just the Windows one. After that, it worked instantly, through S/PDIF and through headphone/line output. This is an audio technicians/home theater enthusiasts/audiophiles dream come true. In hardware, something this versatile would cost thousands! THIS is how computers should work, this is how all programs should be made, with ease of use and features in mind!
Hello, I wrote a simple GUI Configurator for Equalizer APO. All it does is present a simple 10-band EQ that updates a config file (eq.txt) in real-time. More info: linge-ma.ws (latest post as of this writing, I can't post URLs)
