EBoard is a user-friendly chess interface for ICS (Internet Chess Servers). While it will focus on FICS (www.freechess.org), should work with any other ICS. It supports playing against local chess engines too.

Rich many-featured project, I only found 2 cons : the disturbing milliseconds when time is low (it rather be under 10 seconds) and a stupid "hide buttons" button that would need to be disabled when commands are well set. Nevertheless, now that it comes with timeseal, it's the chess client /program you need.
