The Kodak cups filter c2esp for older Kodak ESP printers uses jbig85 compression
The jbig kit functions by Markus Kuhn were distributed with previous versions of
the package c2esp (up to c2esp26).
Since distros now have jbig libraries included (eg Ubuntu 13.04 and Fedora 19)
c2esp27 will use jbig kit libraries.

Older distros may not have jbig kit packages available, and it may not be 
convenient to use the packages belonging to a later disto. I found that the jbig kit
package for ubuntu 13.10 has dependencies that force you to upgrade many other
packages in ubuntu 8.10

jbig85kit is a cut down version of JBIG-KIT which just provides
a jbig85 library to enable old distro versions that do not have 
jbigkit libraries in their repositories.
