I don't even know if the program works . I downloaded it and installed it then tried to run it and got this error ( mscomctl not installed or properly registered ). then the program said to uninstall the active x control then to run the listed bat file. After I did these steps I received the message that the bat file was not found so I looked for it myself and couldn't find it . Next searched for how to install mscomctl and found 3 different locations that tried to install everything but the file I wanted. The first site refereed me to a Pc software store site that installed a virus that my antivirus software quarantined and I deleted immediately (I wish I could remember the name of the site but I trashed it so fast there is no record of it anymore). After I tried the next 2 site with no luck I uninstalled AVSto DVD. What I needed was some thing that would allow me to add MP4 files to a DVD and make them playable on a DVD player, this is something WINDOWS should already provide ! This is making it obvious to switch over to one of my Linux machines.

30% of my batch encodes end up having sound severely out of sync. I've set the defaults to LAV filters and spent hours trying to get this issue resolved with no luck. No settings seem to fix this. No other DVD Authoring programs I use have this issue. The files are H264 1080p videos with 256kbps AAC audio @ 48khz The only solution i've found is to re-encode these files through Handbrake and set them to 192kbps AC3. They are then in sync with AVS2DVD. I've also spend hours on forums trying to find a solution but none of them seem to work. I hope the author can fix this issue because I doubt it's just me. I do have the latest version. The software would be by far the best DVD authoring program i've ever used if this issue was fixed. I still use it but running through them Handbrake first is a major pain.

Almost gave up on it after trying the portable version and getting an error that my Avisynth version was too old, despite having the most up-to-date version (the one it said I needed) installed. I then tried the installer version which didn't have the same issue, and seemed to complete the job OK, until I found that it repeatedly screwed up about 80% into the second title, showing a second of video from a completely different video file that wasn't included at all in the job followed by a gray screen. Also, many dialog boxes where you have to select things have no OK button, but rather require you to close the box with the x in the top-right corner to confirm your selections. And when copying the settings from a title, the title you're in is automatically selected. How does it make any sense that the user would be trying to copy the settings FROM the title they're in TO that title?? Still, if not for the completely random error that keeps happening in the creation, which should NOT even be able to happen, this would be a 4+ star program. But randomly grabbing a piece of video from another file...I don't even know how it would manage that.
