Hello. I've been writing some sounds with zyn and sometimes have had it getting kicked by jack for taking too much cpu. If there was a way I could limit the amount of voices that could be played at once, I could prevent this. The polyphony setting at the moment constrains how many keys can be held at once, but does not control how many voices can sound at once. So, even if it's set to a polyphony of 2, if you have a patch with a long release time, and play fast, you can still overload the computer as so many voices are still sustaining. Would it be possible to make the polyphony setting optionally work with a voice stealing method (i.e. the oldest voice still sounding is stopped when a new one is played)? Thanks. |
