Well if you override a template you create a copy of it 'further down' the device hierarchy so in that case it is creating a copy. The issue here was to create a copy at the same level of the hierarchy which is slightly different, the only place to do an override is at the device level (or a sub-container) and ISTR having problems taking a device level template and moving it 'up' the hierarchy to apply to a class. Perhaps there is a need for an enhancement to allow either copying of a template at the same level or the ability to move/copy and/or rename templates more freely within the hierarchy? David
