I modified xqf to always pass a lowercase string to q3 to see what happens when connecting to a uppercase server. It loads the mod and then fails to connect. So I can't see any improvement. The best thing to do is still to make symlinks from the uppercase directory to the lowercase one (or the other way around) in /usr/local... and ~/.q3a.
