I use "vncpasswd"; it ask me a password and to verify the password. Then I run the script "/etc/inet.d/vncserver start" but it ask me the password again. how can I set passwd for VNCSERVERS ="1:root" ? On boot several messages appear on the screen, but not "Starting vncserver 1:root[ OK ]". I try to open a file "/var/lo/syslog" and i find a line "vncserver start failed". ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Hooper" <wh...@fr...> To: <vnc...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 3:54 PM Subject: RE: Start a display on Linux StartUp > > -----Original Message----- > > From: vnc...@li... > > [mailto:vnc...@li...] On Behalf > > Of Tranquilli Christian > > > > How can I set password before boot? > > If I run vncserver script manually, it always ask me the password. > > > > Where I should see messages for the service starting? > > > > Sorry but I'm a newbie for Linux > > The password is stored in the user's home directory.
