Yes, host requires software installation. Viewer depends on OS. vncviewer on Windows in simply an exe file; just run it. No install necessary. 2. This question is asked VERY often; the router between host system and internet must be configured to allow remote access. It is recommended that an encrypted tunnel be setup first (then run VNC over through the tunnel. It is recommended NOT to use VNC only (security issues). Check the archives for LOTS of discussion on this issue. If the viewing machine is also Windows; search archives for PuTTY. This setup is MUCH easier when viewing system is Linux. |
