Hi guys. I need help with getting TightVNC 1.3.9 running on my 64bit Vista. During installation I choose full install and I tick the boxes which registers TightVNC as a service and then run it. The problem is that I don't get the icon in the system tray (where the clock is). When I open up services.msc I see the VNC Server is up and running, but I still can't connect to it, and I still don't see a tray icon. No matter how many starts and restarts, it still doesn't show up. The strange thing though is that if I start it from the start menu, it starts up instantaneous. One thing I noticed is that if it's started from the services.msc, it's started with a parameter -service. So I tried to launch it manually by typing "C:\Program Files (x86)\TightVNC\WinVNC.exe -service" and exactly nothing happens.. Well, the cursor changes to the loading cursor for a moment, then nothing again. It doesn't even show up in the process tab of task manager. I've also tried with other parameters such as -settings and -servicehelper, nothing happens. Therefore I figured the problem lies in the ability to send parameters to it. What am I supposed to do now? It's really lame to start TightVNC through the start menu every time I log on to the computer. |
