Remote connection via Internet

I have tightvnc server on 98 SE, and the viewer on 2000 pro notebook 
installed. While this setup works on my local network, I'm unable to 
establish connection remotely via the Internet from my notebook. The 
server has a cable broadband connection to the Internet.

Any suggestions?.
