One of my users is having trouble connecting to her machine here at the office from home. She's on a cable modem and is using VPN to access the LAN. Once she's connected to the LAN, she can connect to several of our servers, but cannot connect to her workstation (servers in question are NT4 WKS as is her desktop.) All are running the same, latest full-release version of TightVNC. Other people can access her workstation over the VPN, but for some reason she cannot. She gets as far as entering her password and then it closes. At home this user is running Windows XP Home, if it makes any difference. I've gotten the log file from her workstation and I'll paste it here, in case it'll help... vncServer.cpp : trying port number 5900 Wed Feb 25 14:35:13 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : started socket connection thread Thu Feb 26 11:31:24 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.20.1.44 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.20.1.44 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 11:31:33 2004 vncBuffer.cpp : unknown encoder requested vncMenu.cpp : KillActiveDesktop Thu Feb 26 11:34:55 2004 vncService.cpp : SelectHDESK failed to close old desktop 18, error=170 vncClient.cpp : client disconnected : 10.20.1.44 (id 1) vncServer.cpp : deleting desktop server vncService.cpp : SelectHDESK failed to close old desktop 18, error=170 Thu Feb 26 13:53:11 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.26 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.26 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 13:53:14 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.26 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.26 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 13:53:20 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.26 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.26 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 13:55:03 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.33 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.33 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 13:55:16 2004 vncService.cpp : SelectHDESK failed to close old desktop 18, error=170 vncService.cpp : SelectHDESK failed to close old desktop 18, error=170 vncMenu.cpp : KillActiveDesktop vncBuffer.cpp : unknown encoder requested Thu Feb 26 13:55:46 2004 vncClient.cpp : client disconnected : 10.10.2.33 (id 1) vncServer.cpp : deleting desktop server Thu Feb 26 18:49:15 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.28 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.28 (id 1) Thu Feb 26 18:49:26 2004 vncSockConnect.cpp : accepted connection from 10.10.2.28 vncClient.cpp : client connected : 10.10.2.28 (id 1) Fri Feb 27 08:39:19 2004 WinVNC.cpp : shutting down server vncServer.cpp : shutting down server object vncSockConnect.cpp : quitting socket connection thread vncServer.cpp : shutting down server object(4) Thanks...
