I think I accidently sent this as html, so it didn't appear on the list. Will try again. Dave, the build.conf file has a bootresolution parameter (down towards the end) that will select the bootsplash image to use. Miles has included images for 640x480, 800x600 & 1024x768 (in the utils/tools/boot directory). There is also a kernel parameter (on the param line of the pxelinux.cfg/default file) 'vga=nnn' that can be set. Valid options are: 256 colours 640x400 (769) 800x600 (771) 1024x768 (773) 32K 640x400 (784) 800x600 (787) 1024x768 (790) 64K 640x400 (785) 800x600 (788) 1024x768 (791) 16M 640x400 (786) 800x600 (789) 1024x768 (792) You can also have specific pxelinux.cfg/default files for each ip. Snippet from the pxelinux.txt file in the boot-imges/pxe directory.. << Finally, create the directory "/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg". The configuration file (equivalent of syslinux.cfg -- see syslinux.doc for the options here) will live in this directory. Because more than one system may be booted from the same server, the configuration file name depends on the IP address of the booting machine. PXELINUX will search for its config file on the boot server in the following way: First, it will search for the config file using its own IP address in upper case hexadecimal, e.g. 192.0.2.91 -> C000025B (you can use the included progam "gethostip" to compute the hexadecimal IP address for any host.) If that file is not found, it will remove one hex digit and try again. Ultimately, it will try looking for a file named "default" (in lower case). As an example, for 192.0.2.91, it will try C000025B, C000025, C00002, C0000, C000, C00, C0, C, and default, in that order. >> Trevor B Quoting DAVE CUSHING <dmc...@ca...>: > After pulling my hair out and asking a bunch of silly questions, all my > problems came down to using an old version of the thinstation.conf file > with the 2.0b3 release - obviously it didn't like some of the settings > in there.
