./build --kernel SMP This will build with the SMP that has highmem and PAE. This will let ts see up to 64gb of memory. ________________________________ From: Eli <el...@ne...> To: Thi...@li... Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2012 10:41 AM Subject: [Thinstation-general] Ram limit at 895MB We are using TS as workstations without a HD, they all boot over the network. We use a few different type of machines, but they all have 2GB RAM, yet TS only reads 895MB or so. This is causing us to be running out of memory, crashing the application. ts_80ee7333263e:/$ free -m total used free shared buffers Mem: 883 378 504 0 45 -/+ buffers: 333 550 Swap: 0 0 0 I see in the logs: Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: original variable MTRRs Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 0, base: 0GB, range: 2GB, type WB Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 1, base: 2039MB, range: 1MB, type UC Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 2, base: 2040MB, range: 8MB, type UC Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.info kernel: total RAM covered: 2039M Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.info kernel: Found optimal setting for mtrr clean up Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.info kernel: gran_size: 64K chunk_size: 16M num_reg: 3 lose cover RAM: 0G Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: New variable MTRRs Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 0, base: 0GB, range: 2GB, type WB Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 1, base: 2039MB, range: 1MB, type UC Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.debug kernel: reg 2, base: 2040MB, range: 8MB, type UC Aug 28 13:16:38 ts_80ee7333263e user.warn kernel: Warning only 895MB will be used.
