It really depends on the package. Some packages use a .dna file to track file locations between the chroot env and the build env. Other packages simply repackage chroot packages. As an example, base is very lean and is made up of multiple chroot packages, so I used a .dna file to control it. It would be updated like update base Freerdp on the other hand, is a repackaged version of the chroot freerdp package. I would update is like so. cd /ts/5.0 ./build --removeall ./build and it would be updated on the fly. All packages can be updated by cleaning the chroot and then relaunching like clean_chroot exit ./setup-chroot ________________________________ From: Unknown <un...@gm...> To: thi...@li... Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2012 6:59 AM Subject: [Thinstation-general] ThinStation 5.0 - How-To update package? Help needed. I try to update package from sources. I do: # prt-get -uf update <packagename> And it reports: prt-get: updating /ts/ports/components/<packagename> ... -- Packages updated <packagename> prt-get: updated successfully Package file /ts/ports/components/<packagename>/<packagename>#<newversion>.pkg.tar.gz changes, i see new files in it. File /usr/bin/<binaryname> changes too and has new modification time. But in /ts/5.0/packages/<packagename> there are old files. Commands: prt-get info <packagename> prt-get current <packagename> both reports about new version, which i want to get. I also try command: # update <packagename> but nothing changes. After this I do ./build and try load new image. But after loading system i get old files in it: in ls they has old modification time and program reports about old version. Only if i remove all dirs in chroot envirorment (except of /usr and /ts) then after ./setup-chroot command (and also after ./build) new package appears in image. What i do wrong? What command i must run to update package in image? Maybe there is some cache? Can anyone describe actions of building image - files from which folder are used in it?
