If you check out thinstation.org or the corresponding page on SF, it says clearly "The latest stable release is version 2.2.2" on the front page near the top. On the SF download page you can find Thinstation-2.2.2c.tar.gz, Thinstation-2.3beta2.tar.gz, Thinstation-2.4.0alpha1.tar.bz2 and for TS 3 there even isn't and alpha (as it's pre-alpha). We can't really make it more clear. I think your frustration is that there is no real progress on the 2.3 series with a modern kernel and X and that is shared by everyone - the developers too. The state of matter is though, that we try to float the project with the 2.2.2b/c/d, trying on 2.3 and have a hope for a bright future with 3.0. My estimate is that the combined TS developers time is around one full time person all together - including removing spam from the lists, web site/TSoM, answering mailing list questions - and debugging and developing! That's the simple facts. Mike > Kev > > -- Operator of the Danish TS-O-Matic. http://thinstation.org - a light, full featured linux based thin client OS |
